About

Hi, I'm Joshua Webb.

JDW Appraisal

I've been appraising Metro Detroit since 2001. In that time I've built a deep knowledge and understanding of the cities, towns, and neighborhoods we live in, and I bring that local context to every property I value.

Why local knowledge matters

The market is constantly changing, and staying informed is part of the job. A house two streets over isn't always a comp. A school district boundary or a new development across town can move values in ways an automated valuation will never catch. That's the kind of nuance I look for on every assignment.

Don't trust the online estimates

The values you see on Zillow, Redfin, and similar sites are a starting point at best, and they're often far enough off to cost you real money. Your home is one of your most important assets. Let me help you determine what it's really worth.

What I'm like to work with

I answer the phone when you call. I'll tell you up front what something will cost and how long it will take, and I show up when I say I will. If anything in the report turns out differently than we discussed, you'll hear about it from me first.

Who I work with

Most of my clients fall into one of these groups

Homeowners selling FSBO

Pricing your home without an agent, and you want a real number to stand behind instead of an algorithm's guess.

Home buyers

Negotiating a purchase or paying cash, and you want an independent opinion of value before you commit.

Homeowners appealing taxes

Your assessment looks too high and you need evidence to bring to the Board of Review or Michigan Tax Tribunal.

Attorneys

Probate, estate planning, or tax-tribunal cases that need a defensible, USPAP-compliant valuation.

CPAs & executors

Date-of-value reports for estate filings, stepped-up basis, and probate court submissions.

Families

Inherited property that needs a fair value before it's sold or divided among heirs.

Ready to talk?

The quickest way to get a sense of cost and timing is to call. I usually answer, and if I can't, I'll get back to you the same day.
